Session Manager The Session Manager is a separate application that runs on a systems designed to keep user sessions signed in. Some windows automation actions require a mouse and keyboard. If a session is in a disconnected mode, those commands or actions will fail.
There are two different types of accounts that are managed by this application.
1. A local account to run the windows service. 2. Remote desktop users under which scripts will be run.
NOTE: All passwords are encrypted for security.
These usernames and passwords can be entered during the installation of the Session Manager. Users can also be managed by searching for Databound Session Manager on the start menu.
There is a windows service that runs in the background. Its sole purpose is to keep the remote desktop users signed in so that scripts can be run as needed.
Scenario 1
Any time a listed remote desktop user disconnects from a RDP session, the windows service will detect it and reconnect that account immediately.
Scenario 2
When your servers or PCs reboot for updates, the windows service will automatically log in the listed remote desktop users when the machine is ready.
NOTE: Some Windows Operating Systems allow for multiple user sessions to be signed in at the same time. For example, Windows Server 2016. Windows 10 desktops only allow one user to be signed in at a time. |
