Connection Window Screen Elements

This section lists all of the tabs, buttons, drop-down boxes, checkboxes, and text boxes on the EMUE Connection Settings window, and indicates their purpose.  This window is available by selecting Tools>Connections from the EMUE Toolbar.  Controls are listed from upper left to lower right.

Many of these options are also available using the SetStartup scripting commands.  They are cross-referenced in the table below.

Used to display the current network interface type used to connect to the mainframe. This can be changed by selecting an entry from the drop-down list.

SNA Server 1

Textbox

Used to identify the current name of the first server that EMUE will use when attempting to establish a TN3270 connection.  The current name is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

SNA Server 2

Used to identify the current name of the second server that EMUE will use if SNA Server 1 is unavailable when attempting to establish a TN3270 connection.  The current name is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

Device Name

Textbox

Used to identify the LU that EMUE will use when connecting to the mainframe.   The current LU is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.  If this is left blank, EMUE will attempt to obtain an LU from the Telnet server.

Used to specify the maximum out amount of time that Rumba will wait for each TN3270 server.

A selection from this list is used to define how credentials are supplied when EMUE makes a connection to the SNA gateway using Novell SAA.  The current setting is displayed in the window.

User Name

Textbox

Used to identify the username that EMUE will use when connecting to the SNA gateway using Novell SAA.  The current User Name is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

Used to identify the password that EMUE will use when connecting to the SNA gateway using Novell SAA. The current password is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

Load Balancing

Checkbox

Checking this box instructs EMUE to enable Novell SAA load balancing for this connection.

Hot Standby

Checkbox

Checking this box instructs EMUE to enable the Novell SAA Hot Standby capability.

TCP/IP Timeout

Used to identify the number of seconds that Novell SAA is to wait when making a TCP/IP connection.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

Service Name

Textbox

Used to identify the name of the service that EMUE will use to set the Novell SAA Service option.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

LU Category

Drop-Down

Select from the list to define the type of LU that EMUE will use when establishing a connection to the mainframe. The current setting is displayed in the window.

LU/Group Name

Used to identify the LU or Group name EMUE is to use when establishing a connection to the mainframe.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

Server Identifier

Select from the list to define the method used to identify the Novell SAA Server when EMUE establishes connection to the mainframe. The current setting is displayed in the window.

Used to identify the name of the Novell SAA Server that EMUE will use to establish the connection to the mainframe.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

LU Selection

Drop-Down

Select from the list to define the method to be used by the SNA client to obtain the LU for this session.  The current setting is displayed in the window.

LU Name

Used to identify the name of the LU or LU Pool that will be used by the SNA client for this session.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

MS-SNA

LU Index

Textbox

Used to specify the LU Index that will be used by the SNA client for this session.  The current setting is displayed in the window and can be changed by typing over the entry.

ALL

OK

Button

Instructs EMUE to apply the selected option settings for all of the tabs and to close the Connection window.

Instructs EMUE to close this window without applying any changes.
